Portable Air Purification for the Office

Posted by admin on November 17, 2017 in Air Purification with No Comments

We have come a long way from the early clunky models of air purification systems. Now we have the option to choose what kind of system to perfectly fit our needs. Some of us require an air purifier to cover an entire warehouse or an entire building. Others need one to cover a room or two rooms while some might need to cover just one small room. Alpine Air Technologies is here today to help you find an air purifier for your office area or for your personal area.

What should I be looking for in an air purifier to cover my office area?

When looking for an air purifier to cover your office area, you need to find one that is portable. A portable one allows you to move it around and to easily transport it. It is so important for your office purifier to be portable because you can have it with you wherever you go. You will never have to go without clean air if you have a portable office purifier. Another extremely important quality of an office air purifier is the amount of noise it makes while running. Your office one has to be silent because you cannot afford to bother other people as well as yourself. Your coworkers will be irritated if you bring in a noisy machine to work.

So I just need to find an air purifier that is compact and quiet?

Alpine Air Technologies does not recommend that you settle for any air purifier that is compact and quiet. Why not have an air purifier that is compact, quiet, and powerful enough to completely destroy any pollutants in the air? You are setting your standards too low if you just want any old purifier. You need an Alpine Air Technologies certified air purifier. Our LA-500 models are engineered specifically for single rooms and office areas with your needs in mind. Not only is it one of the most portable purifiers in our store, but it is also powerful enough to kill particles as small as 1 micron. It sits at less than 4 pounds and is less than 1.5 feet tall so you can take it with you anywhere you go and store it anywhere you want.

WOW! The LA-500 sounds like a great deal!

It is. You will not regret your purchase. An ultra-portable and compact air purifier capable of destroying any and all air pollutants while quietly running in the background; the Alpine Air Technologies LA-500 is everything you have been looking for.

Stop by the Alpine Air Technologies website HERE to purchase your LA-500 or if you need any further assistance in finding an air purifier!

Getting the most out of your Alpine Living Classic LA-3500

Posted by admin on September 26, 2017 in Air Purification with No Comments

So you’ve finally purchased and received your very own Alpine Living Classic LA-3500. Congratulations! Today we will go over how to get the most out of your purchase.

The importance of maintaining your Alpine products

We have had customers from over a decade ago tell us how their Alpine products are still running as magnificently as when they first purchased it. Every one of those customers has one thing that they all do in common; they properly maintain their product. It doesn’t take very long and is very easy to do, but many customers don’t do it. Those customers usually run into various issues with their machine. Issues such as the ozone plates not properly generating ozone, the machine making weird noises, and the machine just not running as well as it is intended to. Today we will go over the basic techniques as well as some other important tips or tricks to ensure your product will run optimally for the next decade or two.

I want to know the tips and tricks for my Alpine Classic LA-3500!

We recommend monthly cleaning. To clean your LA-3500, turn off your machine and unplug it from the outlet. Unscrew the two screws on the back of your machine. Carefully set aside the backing as well as the two additional filters when you remove the backing. Remove the two ozone plates and carefully set those aside also. If you have a can of compressed air, use that to remove any dust caught inside the machine. If you don’t have one, use a dry cloth to remove any dust that you can. We highly recommend that you get a can of compressed air to fully remove any and all dust from your machine. After you’ve ensured that all the dust is gone, it is time to clean the ozone plates. Take an old used toothbrush and soak it under warm water. Use the toothbrush to carefully scrub the metal parts of the ozone plate as well as the non-metal part if it is also dirty. If the dirt doesn’t come off the metal part after scrubbing with warm water, you can mix a small amount of hand soap into the water before scrubbing again. Always remember to be gentle while cleaning your machine and to always handle every part with extreme care. When done, let the ozone plates dry before inserting them back into your LA-3500. Put the two filters back in the way they came and screw the backing onto the machine again.

What if there are still problems?

Cleaning and maintaining your LA-3500 will extend the life of the product, but it will not solve every issue. Sometimes the ozone plates get too worn down to continue providing you with the cleanest air possible. We recommend that you switch ozone plates every 6 months to a year, depending on how often you run your 3500. If you follow the above steps and clean monthly, you should be able to extend the life of your plates to at least a year if not longer. However, don’t take too long to replace the plates because you will notice that your machine isn’t cleaning the air as well as it used to. Stop by the Alpine store to pick up some new plates for your machine when you need them!

Click HERE to stop by the Alpine store to pick up new plates, shop for your very own LA-3500, or just to ask any general questions.

Is my Fan Blade Working Efficiently in my New Air Purifier?

Posted by admin on January 30, 2017 in Air Purification with No Comments

The following are guidelines to tighten your fan blade for the following new air purifier models: LA-2000 to Classic LA-3500 (Model #: E300/RH02; 300/RH02; 300/H02; 300/UH02; HL2PRO; ZL-3500/UV)

Do you think the performance of your unit is being effected by a faulty fan blade? Before you secure your loose fan blade, dismantling your unit is mandatory. It shouldn’t take longer than about 15 minutes as it’s quite easy to remove the chassis from the cabinet. First, unscrew the two knobs on the front side of the unit. This would be the 03/Sanitizer and Fan/UV left and rights knobs which both have a small screw attaching them to the unit. Locate the tiny circular opening within each of the knobs to access the screws and unscrew each.

Now, on a hard surface, place the unit upside down and unscrew the bottom two bolts. Then, flip the unit back to its upright position (and on a hard surface still), and you should have easy access to the chassis (mechanism) of the unit. Remove it. Once you’ve moved the chassis, remove the metal protection bar by unscrewing and disconnecting it. Now, you should have easy access to the fan blade!

The blade should be positioned in the middle of the fan motor shaft itself, which is almost half way from the fan motor body and shaft. It shouldn’t be too close to the fan motor body nor in the very front of the fan motor shaft because it may risk touching the two metal prongs of the negative ionizer. Again, it should be placed in the middle of the fan motor shaft, which is an inch away from each end of the fan motor. Fasten the metal clamp of the fan blade by using pliers carefully. Do not maneuver the fan blade drastically and try to keep the fan blade on at all times when securing it. The metal clamp should be right in the middle of the fan blade over its opening (through which the fan motor shaft fits).

Now, reassemble the metal bar in front of the fan blade (and, if applicable, screw in the green ground wire connecting to the metal bar). Place the chassis mechanism fully back into the cabinet and reassemble the unit by following the instructions in reverse (secure the top, then bottom surfaces). Now, plug in your unit and turn it on as you monitor it the next couple of days. Please visit alpineairtechnologies.com if you have further questions!

Where can I Buy Parts for my Air Purifier?

Posted by admin on November 13, 2016 in Air Purification with No Comments

Are you wondering where to buy parts for your air purifier? Do you need to replace something that you can’t find in other stores? Chances are, your air purifier is outdated and the parts for it are no longer distributed for sale because there are better air purifiers available now which work ten times better. Fixing your air purifier with a part may solve the issue temporarily, but you shouldn’t be surprised if your air purifier has ensuing issues in the near future. These air purifiers aren’t meant to last 10 plus years, and it’s time to invest in a new air purifier. Local dealers will not have older parts, so again, save your time from going! Fortunately, if you do have a newer air purifier, parts and replacements are most of the time available for your unit. On our parts page, we have old and new parts available for all our models. Simply just scroll up and down the page and navigate yourself until you find your model and part. If the part isn’t available, that means that you must ship in your unit to us because our qualified technician must replace the part as it’s dangerous and very confusing to do so. You can find ozone plates, filters, batteries, filters, and much more on our parts page, all for the best cost in the market today.

If you do have an older air purifier, we recommend replacing the unit as a whole as you will most likely have to continually replace parts on your old unit. Fortunately, we have a special trade-in program where you give us your current unit (of whatever condition it is – old, rusty, dirty, etc. – as long as it’s working) and we give you $100 towards a purchase of your new air purifier which is already discounted at a marked price! We ship the unit to you for free and offer a free 3 year parts and labor warranty! So there really is no catch, what are you waiting for? Go to http://alpineairtechnologies.com today to get your air purifier!

Replacing your Ozone Plates on your HMA-250 Air Purifier

Posted by admin on November 13, 2016 in Air Purification with No Comments

Do you have the model# HMA-250 air purifier, or any other old purifier, that needs some servicing and replacement of parts? Is it getting rusty, ineffective, and problematic? Have you thought about the newer technology and science behind up-to-date air purifiers and their effectiveness? Well, if these thoughts are running through your head, you’ve reached the right place!

For the HMA-250 unit, a commercial air purifier manufactured in the early 1990’s, the main purpose is to sanitize air. Unlike today’s air purifiers, they didn’t feature an ionization process of removal for pollutants in the air. Hence, this unit isn’t actually meant for residential daily operation. The “right side only” caption means that only the right side of the air purifier can fit ozone plates, and not any universal ozone plate. In addition to the plates, all other parts of this model are no longer available as of many years ago. This is simply because the demand of this unit, as well as other older units, has significantly diminished as everyone has switched to newer models. Newer models are behind efficient technology that today’s scientists approve of and admire as they are safer, more effective, quieter, more powerful, and much more.

If you were looking to replace a certain part on your old air purifier, we highly recommend taking advantage, instead, of our special trade in program offered for a limited time. This program basically cuts your cost in half for a brand new, top-quality, alpine air purifier, with free shipping all just for trading in your current air purifier (no matter what condition it’s in). Your new air purifier is shipped to you for free, and comes with a three-year parts and labor warranty, so there really is no catch. You may as well invest in a reliable and durable air purifier now than repair and service your current unit, and then have to only do the same thing in another few months. Visit http://alpineairtechnologies.com today to get yourself your air purifier!

Benefits of Newer Alpine Air Purifying Models via Trade-in Program

Posted by admin on November 2, 2016 in Air Purification with No Comments

Are you looking to replace your existing air purifying unit for whatever reason – be it, rust build up, less effective, old age, unhappy with performance, etc.? Look no further – Alpine Air Technologies is offering a new trade-in program which allows buyers to basically purchase a brand new Alpine Air Purifier with a 3year parts and labor warranty for the same cost as repairing your old unit! Alpine pays you $100 for your unit, regardless of the make, year, or brand! The new Alpine Air Purifiers available for the trade-in program are the Professional LA-2000 v2.0, Silent Thunder LA-2400 v2.0, NA Flare LA-2700 v2.0, RainFresh Breeze LA-3000 v2.0, Classic LA-3500 v2.0, and Fresh Air LA-3500 v2.0. The first 500 participants will also receive free shipping of their old unit paid for by us, so check it out the details before it’s too late!

There are also many benefits that comes with these new models thanks to new technology and innovation, as well as market expansion of air purifier users (which really has funded the market for units to grow). Instead of being preoccupied with wondering where you can replace a certain part on your old air purifier, or how expensive it’s going to cost you, you could be already enjoying the more efficient and desirable sensations (of clean air) with the newer Alpine air purifying units:

-Less rust: The new double pronged stainless steel negative ionizer is strategically positioned directly ahead of the fan which will result in large amounts of less rust. Also, unlike the old single needled, non-stainless steel ionizer radio wave antenna, the new one releases trillions of negative ions per second, resulting in more efficient and quicker reduction of particles in the air.

-More control of airborne particles in close proximity to unit: Unlike older models which didn’t even have one, the newer models feature a new high intensity UV germicidal light which help control germs, viruses, bacteria, mold, fungi, etc. close to the unit’s operating area.

-Quicker sanitization of areas, May it be a home, office, business, etc., from increased use production: The new models feature new ozone generation mechanism as they uses stainless steel and two high frequency ozone plates while older models used one ozone plate with low frequency.

-Longevity of lifetime: The lifespan of your new air purifier will last much longer than older units as they can finally be cleaned and washed thoroughly without causing any damage to them. The new and improved filtration system on the back of newer models prevents pollutants from easily slipping through and entering the unit, unlike the older models which were prone to this.

-More durability and protection to prevent deterioration of the models physical landscape. The old units’ cabinets were made out of thin plywood which wasn’t very sturdy and failed to effectively protect internal parts. Newer models feature oak wood, which is one of the best solid woods known to mankind!

-Easy and quicker cleaning resulting in efficiency and a long lasting unit: the old models required the many instructions and steps resulting in difficulty when being taken apart. The new models have a new, easy cleaning chassis that quickly can slide in and out of the interior cabinet. This also benefits users with easy access to the inside of their air purifiers for cleaning and maintenance purposes.

-Improved and enhanced 3 year parts and labor warranty: All new models feature a three year parts and labor warranty. Also, if your machine fails to operate even after we repair it, we will send you a new one for free.

There are many benefits with these new models issued in the trade-in program as you can see, and we’re just getting started! Don’t wait before deals expire! Please visit http://alpineairtechnologies.com to check out your new air purifier today!

Replacing your Air Purifier and its Radio Wave Antenna

Posted by admin on November 2, 2016 in Air Purification with No Comments

Are you an owner of an older modeled air purifier? Are there some parts (such as the radio wave antenna) and places of your air purifier that you want to replace, or replace your air purifier in general? Search no more, you’ve found the right place!

After a while, your air purifier even begins to accumulate dust and rust on certain parts, and unfortunately, basic routinely maintenance becomes less valuable to the point where it’s not worth spending your time on. In fact, many older air purifiers have a rusty circular object connected to the light bulb next to the ozone plate cage. This is the Radio Wave Antenna! Unfortunately, over time rust has built up which will more than likely impact the functionality of the antenna (and unit) as it serves its purpose in ionization mechanics. Basically, radio wave ionization reduces the amount of larger particles in the air while the needle point ionizer brings smaller particles to the ground. If your antenna has rusted, chances are, other parts of your unit are rusted as well, even if you perform routine maintenance.

In general, for older air purifiers especially, finding User Guides and Manuals as well as certain parts will be difficult to do as they are becoming outdated by new, more efficient, cheaper, more durable, air purifying units. Often times when the part is found for the unit, it’s hard to find a manufacturer who will assemble your unit because the model is so old and the technology is so different (than what were familiar with today). This results in a high cost of repairing your air purifier usually, however cost efficient air purifier repairs aren’t impossible either. There are only a few older models which you will find that have replacement parts available throughout the market, simply because they are outdated.

Please be aware, again, that replacing the parts of older air purifying units is expensive. Sometimes, it’s wise to actually just buy a good unit that will last you a long time (rather than trying to buy knock-off modeled units or older units which don’t function to the efficiency level of today’s units). In fact, the best case is actually a trade-in program for your unit. That way you get money for your old unit, and basically get the new unit discounted. Think about it, repairing an older air purifier will cost you nearly $200-$300 on average based off the price of parts and labor. Newer and more efficient air purifiers cost anywhere from about $500 and up. You’d be basically cutting your cost in half as they even PAY YOU $100 for your unit (resulting in a net cost change of nearly $300-$400 cheaper)! The decision is yours people, however if you invest in good quality air purifiers now, you won’t have to spend more money down the road – simply said. Newer models have many benefits: enhanced quality, more durable, more efficient, technologically advanced, User Guides available, replacement parts available, and much more! Fixing a Loose Fan Blade in my new Air Purifier

Posted by admin on September 22, 2016 in Air Purification with No Comments

Is your fan blade on your new or used air purifier loose and not securely attached? This may cause damage to your unit and your unit may malfunction, so it’s important you deal with this issue as soon as you can. You must tighten the loose blade immediately to your unit, before you begin to use it. Here are specific instructions for tightening the fan blade on the following Alpine air purifiers: LA-2000 to Classic LA-3500 – model #’s: E300/RH02; 300/RH02; 300/H02; 300/UH02; HL2PRO; ZL3500/UV.

Tightening the fan blade requires disassembling your air purifier. It’ll be a smooth process if you follow these instructions, and it shouldn’t take longer than 15 minutes to complete. First, you will have to unscrew the two knobs in the front of your air purifier. These are the left knob, which is the 03/sanitizer, and the right knob, which is the fan/UV. Note that each of the knobs are attached to the air purifier with a tiny screw. Find the little round opening within each of the knobs to access the screws and undo them.

Second, once the knobs have been safely removed, you need to carefully flip the unit upside down. Make sure you are placing it on a solid, hard surface to ensure stability to the ground (tables, countertops, wooden floors, etc). Then unscrew the two bottom bolts, and flip it back to an upright position. Now, you should be able to remove the chassis from the cabinet and safely place it on a hard surface.

Third, you will locate the metal protection bar. It should be directly in front of the fan blade. Carefully unscrew it, giving you easy access then to the fan blade which should be sitting in the center of the motor shaft. The blade should not be too close to the front of the motor shaft nor too close to the fan motor body, as this would allow for contact to be made to the two metal prongs of the negative ionizer. Realistically, it should be placed in the middle of the shaft, about one inch away from each end of the fan motor. With access to the fan blade, carefully fasten the metal clamp of the fan blade with pliers. The metal clamp should be right in the middle of the fan blade over the opening through which the fan motor shaft is placed in. If you don’t have pliers, you can easily obtained some at any local supplies store such and Home Depot or Lowes.

Lastly, it’s time to put everything back together. You will reattach the metal bar in front of the fan blade and screw in the green ground wire which is connected to the metal bar (not all models will have the green ground wire however). Then place the chassis back into the cabinet fully and reassemble the unit’s screws and bolts by following the above instructions in the opposite order. You will want to keep an eye out for the fan blade movement for the next few times you use the unit to ensure you have solved the issue.

Should I Oil my Air Purifier’s Fan Motor?

Posted by admin on September 22, 2016 in Air Purification with No Comments

Are you wondering about ways to improve the efficiency of your air purifier? Are you considering oiling your unit’s fan motor to help the noise problem that you’ve been hearing from your unit? Well, you’ve reached the right place if you’re in need of expert advice! Oiling the fan motor is a big NO, simply stated. Oiling the fan motor does not help the noise issue. The noise actually comes from within the fan motor itself – most of the time due to worn out bearings which already have oil on them (so adding more oil will not help and in some cases may make your issue worse). The only solution to this problem (as we have seen many of these cases in the past from previous customer inquiries) is to replace the fan motor itself. Replacing the fan motor will eliminate the noise you’ve been hearing from your unit once and for all. (Alpine Air Technologies offers a 3 year parts and labor warranty, so if you’ve purchased an Alpine Air Technologies unit which is less than three years old, we will replace it for free!)

Please note that when the fan blade makes noise (not the fan motor – it’s important to distinguish this), oiling the fan motor shaft only (on which the fan blade is sitting on) will maybe help the noise issue, but it’s not guaranteed. This is only if the noise is from the fan motor, which is extremely rare. If you wish to clean the fan blade itself, the best way to do this is to either use a can of compressed air (from any local supply store) to spray off the dust, or wipe it with a damp cloth. The fan motor itself can also be cleaned with a can of compressed air, or wiped off with a dry cloth. If you need additional help for cleaning your unit, please refer to your unit’s specific maintenance instructions.

The Best Way you can Clean your Air Purifier

Posted by admin on September 22, 2016 in Air Purification with No Comments

Having an air purifier is a necessity these days as the air inside our homes and offices are constantly contaminated with bacteria, allergens, pollution, and dust particles. Breathing clean and clear air is important for our short and long term health, absent of these contaminants. If you already have an air purifier, you’re a step ahead already! Although having an air purifier is a necessity, you must treat it as a luxury because you must properly maintain and clean your unit periodically. Doing so will ensure you that your air purifier will last a long time while being fully effective.

Cleaning your unit is strongly recommended as contaminants usually pile up inside the unit after some time of being used (the time varies depending on how often you use your unit). We recommend performing simple maintenance every month on your air purifier. Every time you clean your unit, you should have a checklist of cleaning these parts: ceramic ozone plates, back carbon filter (if your unit has one), interior of the unit, fan motor, and fan blade.

  1. Ceramic Ozone Plates: Once every 30 days you should be washing the ozone plates. We recommend placing the plates in a bucket of warm water. It would be even more beneficial if you add clear/lemon ammonia added (add one teaspoon to one cup of water and mix, then add to bucket). Let the plates sit in the bucket for water (with or without clear/lemon ammonia) for a couple of minutes. Then rinse them off well ensuring you’ve washed both sides. After, use a soft toothbrush to softly scrub the metal screen on each side of the ozone plates to remove residue. Finally, allow for the plates to completely dry off before placing them back inside your unit. To ensure a long-lasting life for your air purifier, you should replace the ozone plates every three years, or whenever you notice the ozone plates are starting to get worn out.
  2. Back Carbon Filter: It’s recommended to also clean the back carbon filter of your air purifier every time you clean the ceramic ozone plates (however, not all units will have a back carbon filter – if this is the case, you can skip this step). Use a can of compressed air to spray off the dust on the filter. If you don’t have a spray can, you can easily find one at an office supply store (like Home Depot). It’s also recommended to wash the filter every three months and to replace it every year. You can replace the back carbon filter or ceramic ozone plates here.
  3. Interior of Unit: Additionally, you can used the can of compressed air to efficiently eliminate any particles/contaminants once every month (or whenever as needed). Once the back carbon filter is removed, it’s easy to access the interior of the unit.
  4. Fan Motor and Fan Blade: As the back carbon filter was removed, you should also remove the front grill of your unit to gain access to the fan motor and fan blade. Again, using the can of compressed air to spray away any contaminants is highly recommended as the best method to clean these components.

Performing these basic tasks periodically will ensure a longer-lasting lifetime and effectiveness of removing air contaminants from your air purifier. For additional specific maintenance instructions, refer to your model’s user guide.
