Instead of being preoccupied with wondering where you can replace a certain part on your old air purifier, or how expensive it’s going to cost you, you could be already enjoying the more efficient and desirable sensations (of clean air) with the newer Alpine air purifying units:

-Less rust: The new double pronged stainless steel negative ionizer is strategically positioned directly ahead of the fan which will result in large amounts of less rust. Also, unlike the old single needled, non-stainless steel ionizer radio wave antenna, the new one releases trillions of negative ions per second, resulting in more efficient and quicker reduction of particles in the air.

-More control of airborne particles in close proximity to unit: Unlike older models which didn’t even have one, the newer models feature a new high intensity UV germicidal light which help control germs, viruses, bacteria, mold, fungi, etc. close to the unit’s operating area.

-Quicker sanitization of areas, May it be a home, office, business, etc., from increased use production: The new models feature new ozone generation mechanism as they uses stainless steel and two high frequency ozone plates while older models used one ozone plate with low frequency.

-Longevity of lifetime: The lifespan of your new air purifier will last much longer than older units as they can finally be cleaned and washed thoroughly without causing any damage to them. The new and improved filtration system on the back of newer models prevents pollutants from easily slipping through and entering the unit, unlike the older models which were prone to this.

-More durability and protection to prevent deterioration of the models physical landscape. The old units’ cabinets were made out of thin plywood which wasn’t very sturdy and failed to effectively protect internal parts. Newer models feature oak wood, which is one of the best solid woods known to mankind!

-Easy and quicker cleaning resulting in efficiency and a long lasting unit: the old models required the many instructions and steps resulting in difficulty when being taken apart. The new models have a new, easy cleaning chassis that quickly can slide in and out of the interior cabinet. This also benefits users with easy access to the inside of their air purifiers for cleaning and maintenance purposes.

-Improved and enhanced 3 year parts and labor warranty: All new models feature a three year parts and labor warranty. Also, if your machine fails to operate even after we repair it, we will send you a new one for free.

Replacing your Air Purifier and its Radio Wave Antenna

Posted by admin on November 2, 2016 in Air Purification with No Comments

Are you an owner of an older modeled air purifier? Are there some parts (such as the radio wave antenna) and places of your air purifier that you want to replace, or replace your air purifier in general? Search no more, you’ve found the right place!

After a while, your air purifier even begins to accumulate dust and rust on certain parts, and unfortunately, basic routinely maintenance becomes less valuable to the point where it’s not worth spending your time on. In fact, many older air purifiers have a rusty circular object connected to the light bulb next to the ozone plate cage. This is the Radio Wave Antenna! Unfortunately, over time rust has built up which will more than likely impact the functionality of the antenna (and unit) as it serves its purpose in ionization mechanics. Basically, radio wave ionization reduces the amount of larger particles in the air while the needle point ionizer brings smaller particles to the ground. If your antenna has rusted, chances are, other parts of your unit are rusted as well, even if you perform routine maintenance.

In general, for older air purifiers especially, finding User Guides and Manuals as well as certain parts will be difficult to do as they are becoming outdated by new, more efficient, cheaper, more durable, air purifying units. Often times when the part is found for the unit, it’s hard to find a manufacturer who will assemble your unit because the model is so old and the technology is so different (than what were familiar with today). This results in a high cost of repairing your air purifier usually, however cost efficient air purifier repairs aren’t impossible either. There are only a few older models which you will find that have replacement parts available throughout the market, simply because they are outdated.

Please be aware, again, that replacing the parts of older air purifying units is expensive. Sometimes, it’s wise to actually just buy a good unit that will last you a long time (rather than trying to buy knock-off modeled units or older units which don’t function to the efficiency level of today’s units). In fact, the best case is actually a trade-in program for your unit. That way you get money for your old unit, and basically get the new unit discounted. Think about it, repairing an older air purifier will cost you nearly $200-$300 on average based off the price of parts and labor. Newer and more efficient air purifiers cost anywhere from about $500 and up. You’d be basically cutting your cost in half as they even PAY YOU $100 for your unit (resulting in a net cost change of nearly $300-$400 cheaper)! The decision is yours people, however if you invest in good quality air purifiers now, you won’t have to spend more money down the road – simply said. Newer models have many benefits: enhanced quality, more durable, more efficient, technologically advanced, User Guides available, replacement parts available, and much more! Fixing a Loose Fan Blade in my new Air Purifier

Posted by admin on September 22, 2016 in Air Purification with No Comments

Is your fan blade on your new or used air purifier loose and not securely attached? This may cause damage to your unit and your unit may malfunction, so it’s important you deal with this issue as soon as you can. You must tighten the loose blade immediately to your unit, before you begin to use it. Here are specific instructions for tightening the fan blade on the following Alpine air purifiers: LA-2000 to Classic LA-3500 – model #’s: E300/RH02; 300/RH02; 300/H02; 300/UH02; HL2PRO; ZL3500/UV.

Tightening the fan blade requires disassembling your air purifier. It’ll be a smooth process if you follow these instructions, and it shouldn’t take longer than 15 minutes to complete. First, you will have to unscrew the two knobs in the front of your air purifier. These are the left knob, which is the 03/sanitizer, and the right knob, which is the fan/UV. Note that each of the knobs are attached to the air purifier with a tiny screw. Find the little round opening within each of the knobs to access the screws and undo them.

Second, once the knobs have been safely removed, you need to carefully flip the unit upside down. Make sure you are placing it on a solid, hard surface to ensure stability to the ground (tables, countertops, wooden floors, etc). Then unscrew the two bottom bolts, and flip it back to an upright position. Now, you should be able to remove the chassis from the cabinet and safely place it on a hard surface.

Third, you will locate the metal protection bar. It should be directly in front of the fan blade. Carefully unscrew it, giving you easy access then to the fan blade which should be sitting in the center of the motor shaft. The blade should not be too close to the front of the motor shaft nor too close to the fan motor body, as this would allow for contact to be made to the two metal prongs of the negative ionizer. Realistically, it should be placed in the middle of the shaft, about one inch away from each end of the fan motor. With access to the fan blade, carefully fasten the metal clamp of the fan blade with pliers. The metal clamp should be right in the middle of the fan blade over the opening through which the fan motor shaft is placed in. If you don’t have pliers, you can easily obtained some at any local supplies store such and Home Depot or Lowes.

Lastly, it’s time to put everything back together. You will reattach the metal bar in front of the fan blade and screw in the green ground wire which is connected to the metal bar (not all models will have the green ground wire however). Then place the chassis back into the cabinet fully and reassemble the unit’s screws and bolts by following the above instructions in the opposite order. You will want to keep an eye out for the fan blade movement for the next few times you use the unit to ensure you have solved the issue.

Should I Oil my Air Purifier’s Fan Motor?

Posted by admin on September 22, 2016 in Air Purification with No Comments

Are you wondering about ways to improve the efficiency of your air purifier? Are you considering oiling your unit’s fan motor to help the noise problem that you’ve been hearing from your unit? Well, you’ve reached the right place if you’re in need of expert advice! Oiling the fan motor is a big NO, simply stated. Oiling the fan motor does not help the noise issue. The noise actually comes from within the fan motor itself – most of the time due to worn out bearings which already have oil on them (so adding more oil will not help and in some cases may make your issue worse). The only solution to this problem (as we have seen many of these cases in the past from previous customer inquiries) is to replace the fan motor itself. Replacing the fan motor will eliminate the noise you’ve been hearing from your unit once and for all. (Alpine Air Technologies offers a 3 year parts and labor warranty, so if you’ve purchased an Alpine Air Technologies unit which is less than three years old, we will replace it for free!)

Please note that when the fan blade makes noise (not the fan motor – it’s important to distinguish this), oiling the fan motor shaft only (on which the fan blade is sitting on) will maybe help the noise issue, but it’s not guaranteed. This is only if the noise is from the fan motor, which is extremely rare. If you wish to clean the fan blade itself, the best way to do this is to either use a can of compressed air (from any local supply store) to spray off the dust, or wipe it with a damp cloth. The fan motor itself can also be cleaned with a can of compressed air, or wiped off with a dry cloth. If you need additional help for cleaning your unit, please refer to your unit’s specific maintenance instructions.

The Best Way you can Clean your Air Purifier

Posted by admin on September 22, 2016 in Air Purification with No Comments

Having an air purifier is a necessity these days as the air inside our homes and offices are constantly contaminated with bacteria, allergens, pollution, and dust particles. Breathing clean and clear air is important for our short and long term health, absent of these contaminants. If you already have an air purifier, you’re a step ahead already! Although having an air purifier is a necessity, you must treat it as a luxury because you must properly maintain and clean your unit periodically. Doing so will ensure you that your air purifier will last a long time while being fully effective.

Cleaning your unit is strongly recommended as contaminants usually pile up inside the unit after some time of being used (the time varies depending on how often you use your unit). We recommend performing simple maintenance every month on your air purifier. Every time you clean your unit, you should have a checklist of cleaning these parts: ceramic ozone plates, back carbon filter (if your unit has one), interior of the unit, fan motor, and fan blade.

  1. Ceramic Ozone Plates: Once every 30 days you should be washing the ozone plates. We recommend placing the plates in a bucket of warm water. It would be even more beneficial if you add clear/lemon ammonia added (add one teaspoon to one cup of water and mix, then add to bucket). Let the plates sit in the bucket for water (with or without clear/lemon ammonia) for a couple of minutes. Then rinse them off well ensuring you’ve washed both sides. After, use a soft toothbrush to softly scrub the metal screen on each side of the ozone plates to remove residue. Finally, allow for the plates to completely dry off before placing them back inside your unit. To ensure a long-lasting life for your air purifier, you should replace the ozone plates every three years, or whenever you notice the ozone plates are starting to get worn out.
  2. Back Carbon Filter: It’s recommended to also clean the back carbon filter of your air purifier every time you clean the ceramic ozone plates (however, not all units will have a back carbon filter – if this is the case, you can skip this step). Use a can of compressed air to spray off the dust on the filter. If you don’t have a spray can, you can easily find one at an office supply store (like Home Depot). It’s also recommended to wash the filter every three months and to replace it every year. You can replace the back carbon filter or ceramic ozone plates here.
  3. Interior of Unit: Additionally, you can used the can of compressed air to efficiently eliminate any particles/contaminants once every month (or whenever as needed). Once the back carbon filter is removed, it’s easy to access the interior of the unit.
  4. Fan Motor and Fan Blade: As the back carbon filter was removed, you should also remove the front grill of your unit to gain access to the fan motor and fan blade. Again, using the can of compressed air to spray away any contaminants is highly recommended as the best method to clean these components.

Performing these basic tasks periodically will ensure a longer-lasting lifetime and effectiveness of removing air contaminants from your air purifier. For additional specific maintenance instructions, refer to your model’s user guide.

Posted by admin on July 20, 2016 in Air Purification with No Comments

The indoor air quality can be same or even more polluted than outdoor air. Since, most people spend most of the time inside the home; they are exposed to polluted air. In order to avoid the risk of various health issues, people rely on air purifiers now-a-days. If you are also planning to buy one, you need to be aware about some common myths about air purifiers –

Myth: Air purification unit removes the need to dusting forever.

It is the most general misinterpretation about air purifier. Many people think that this device can literally pick up the dust off furniture and carpet, etc. and they never need to do dusting. But, this is not true. Even if you have a modern device to clean the air, you should use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust and dirt.

Myth: People with asthma and other allergies can get thorough solution of the problem with a purifier.
Many doctors recommend asthma patients to use air filter system to make the environment better for their situation, but it is not a complete solution or only remedy for asthma patients. To make a home free of all allergies, it is important to pay heed on regular cleaning and humidity level inside the home. It is also essential to control growth of molds.
Myth: Air purifier unit with HEPA filter is the best choice.

It is not necessary. Even a HEPA filter may vary in size and excellence. There are many factors, including Design, technology, quality of filter and warrantee, etc. that need to be considered while choosing a purifier.

Myth: People with dust mite allergies should buy an air purification unit.

It’s true! You should buy a branded an air purification unit if you are suffering from dust mite allergies. You can also buy dust mite covers for your bed because dust mite assembles in temperate and damp surroundings.

Myth: Air purifiers remove odors along with dust, germs and toxic gases.

It depends on the quality of the filters. But, to get an inclusive solution and better health, it is advised to select a branded device that can eliminate bad odors, germs, toxic gases and even tinier particles of dust.

Can an air purifier actually help with asthma?

Posted by admin on July 20, 2016 in Air Purification with No Comments

People with asthma always strive to discover various new ways to eliminate the particles in the air that worsen their situation, and air purifier system looks like a good way out of the problem. Most physicians recommend asthma patients use an air purifier at their home, office or in the car, etc. However, many studies have shown that it is not necessary and depends on the quality of air purifier though many companies advertise that their devices are able to reduce asthma systems by controlling airborne pollutants. While, it is true to a level, studies showed that some devices have limited outcomes.

Put your level best to control airborne allergens

Many researches showed that having a good quality air purification system to a home with kids suffering from asthma generates a better environment on the whole. Nevertheless, it does not totally alleviate asthma symptoms exclusively. By controlling dust sources and with proper cleaning, you can get good results for your family. Basically, the fact is dust miles and dander incites by sitting on furniture, walking across a carpet or let fall on a mattress cannot be removed from the room until they get in touch with the purifier.

It is advised to control the sources of dust mites and germs need to be wiped out from the indoor before the filter can make a remarkable difference. Elements like shedding pets, outdoor dust access, smoke, and mold buildup must be dealt with care. The air purifier can control harmful elements to a level, but for a comprehensive solution, you need to put your level best to control the possibilities of asthma attacks.

Opt for a right air purification unit

The airborne particulates responsible for asthma symptoms are not filtered through the air purifier because they are too tiny. So, when your main concern is asthma, you need to invest in a strong and the first-rate air purification system that can control even most minute dust particles from every corner of the home. Apart from dust, it is must be able to control allergens, germs and Bactria, etc. from the air effectively.  Some purifiers emit ozone, claiming that short term or extensive coverage of ozone gas can actually boost the asthma symptoms because it is has toxicological attributes that limit and slow down lung function, even in healthy people.

Air Living Purifier is a top-notch device that works amazingly to reduce the asthma symptoms. Opt for it to reduce the chances of asthma attacks and make a difference. Remember, you need to pay heed on the sources of airborne allergens to get maximum benefits.

Long Term Health Benefits of Air Purifier

Posted by admin on July 20, 2016 in Air Purification with No Comments

The majority of people takes the health somewhat for granted. Nevertheless, long-term health can be obtained by regularly passing up health risks. You can consider it like an investment that should be made as early as possible to get great benefits in later stages of life.

Air quality is one of the important factors associated with our health. At the present time, the pollution level is increasing with every passing minute. The difficult aspect about air pollution is that so much of what is injurious to us is barely discernible with our noses. Your body can’t actually tell you when the air you inhale is infected. Our bodies are exposed to various harmful pollutants, including toxins, germs and chemicals, etc. and it can cause a damaging effect and can show the way to various serious health problems. If consistency is there, the chances of getting ill may increase even more.

The consistent exposure to inhaled pollutants that are conveyed by various sources in your home such as carpet, furniture, Ac filters and more can influence your health very badly. In order to avoid such risk and get good health, you need fresh and clean air and that too consistently. You can buy an air purifier to get clean air to breathe in and get amazing health benefits for long terms.

Don’t invest in a wrong product, opt for the best one

All air purifiers are not same and don’t offer the same performance and benefits. You can check a wide collection of purifier devices in the market, but some of them are totally rubbish. You need to understand what you are going to buy. Make sure that you are getting maximum worth against your investment.

Most devices just remove dust from the air and not good for anything else. They are made with some filters to control a few elements only. They may reduce some allergen, but do not have the capability to diminish various other hazardous elements, including, bacteria, gases, and virus, etc.

Branded air purifiers have the inbuilt equipment to remove some stubborn containment such as carbon, electrostatic and other substances. Some companies claim to clean the indoor air completely, but don’t accept them as true. Make a proper research to understand the fact.

Some purifiers have a thin sheet with carbon dust on it. Such devices can’t remove carbon from the air. The filter must be able to take away even tiny particles of dust and other toxins.

Don’t choose cheap quality filter system, but invest in a top-notch purifier to get ultimate benefits.

Determine your requirements

Do you want to get rid of dust, molds and unpleasant odor or want to remove toxic chemicals to avoid allergies, heart issues and lung cancer, etc.? Determine your needs first and make sure what you want from an air purifier.

As far as long term health is concerned, you need a genuine, excellent air purifier that works on a latest technology to remove all types of containments from air in the best possible manner. Air Living Purifier can offer you expected results consistently for long term health benefits.

With the drought affecting major areas in the west coast, rain has not been as abundant as in the past, and temperatures have been soaring for the past recent years.  Unfortunately, major states such as Washington, California, Idaho, and Oregon have been affected the most.  In Washington alone, 590,000 acres of land have been burned down while 276,000 gallons of water have been used to combat against it.  In California, as of two weeks ago, there were 17 wildfires being battled and treated by more than 12,000 firefighters.  Help is on the way from other states such as Minnesota, Wyoming, and Colorado.  Idaho alone has 17 wildfires as well.  The fires are spreading rapidly having negative effects on the environment and the quality of air people are breathing as smoke and pollution emerge as a primary concern for the public.  wildfire  Washington State Department of Health has issued a warning that “People are encouraged to remain indoors to avoid breathing smoky air, which can cause coughing, chest pain and shortness of breath in healthy people.”  The smoke outside is something all affected people should be avoiding as many people have asthma, allergies, and are sensitive to a chemical consumed air environment.  However, the department failed to mention that the quality of air indoor for these local residents will be just as bad as the air outdoors.  Did you know that indoor air pollution is a top 5 environmental health risk issued by EDA.gov?  Indoor air pollution is bad itself, but for these western states affected by wildfires, the indoor air of almost every home is being contaminated with smoke, pollution, and other toxic chemicals.  With air cooling and heating systems, gaps in windows and doors, chemicals being brought in by home owner’s clothes, and the ease of air traveling in and out of homes, the air inside homes will be just as bad as the air outside.  The safest place to stay is, without doubt, your home.  However, the air in these homes needs to be treated, just as the wildfires outdoors are being treated.  To treat the air in your home, experts recommend that you should use an air purifier to sanitize and oxygenate the air.  Air purifiers have been scientifically proven to combat against air, and kill 99 percent of bacteria such as pollution, smoke, mold, chemicals, allergens, and much more.  With the two step release process, the top quality air purifiers release negative ions and ozone, efficiently eliminating almost all contaminants.  It’s extremely important that you invest in the right air purifier, not just a generic branded one – which would result in little to no improvement in the quality of your indoor air.  We recommend using an Alpine air purifier, as they are one of the best air purifiers available in the market today.  Alpine air purifiers combat effectively against smoke and pollution as one of their main functions, in addition to fighting against other chemicals.  They are super friendly, offer great warranty and customer support, and their machines have been a customer favorite for recent years.  E300A   Investing in an air purifier is the most beneficial thing you can do if you are affected by the wildfires on the west coast.  Preventing health issues from arising now will pay off as you will be breathing pure, fresh quality air inside your home, making it the safest place to stay away from the smoke and pollution outdoors. http://www.alpineairtechnologies.com/

Why Allergies Occur

Allergies have become one of the most important health problems for all of us.  Nowadays allergies are being reported and noticed more. An allergic response is produced by allergen, which are the proteins in pollen, and people are sensitive to pollen. Usually pollen allergies are developed slowly, and it is often first caused by connecting with viral infection. Once the pollen allergies is triggered, every time when you are exposed to the allergen, your immune system will react with all kinds of affects, such as runny nose or asthma symptoms. Also the amount of exposure matters. For people with allergies, they can handle some exposure, but with large exposure the immune system will be triggered to attack.

There are several reasons for why people get allergies. The genetics and the environment are part of the answer, but according to Immunologist Judah Denburg, if you “put wrong genetic makeup into the wrong environment, you will get this explosive mixture that leads to allergies and asthma”. So it is really hard to cure allergies, the best treatment for allergy is to prevent exposure to allergens.

Are you suffering from allergies, sniffling and sneezing all day long? If you are plagued by allergies or asthma, you may consider purchasing an air purifier, which can remove dust, pet dander, pollen, and other allergens from the air, making it easier for allergy sufferers to breathe. You can find many different selections of air purifiers at AlpineAirTechnologies.

The Most Effective Way To Clean your Air Purifier

Posted by admin on May 15, 2016 in Air Purification with No Comments

Alpine air purifiers must be routinely cleaned and checked up on to make sure they are running to their full potential and correctly working effectively.  You should be performing these check-ups at least once a month on your air purifier.  The more you maintain and ensure your air purifier is working effectively, the longer the lifespan for it as well.

Every 30 days, make sure you wash the ceramic ozone plates in warm water with recommended clear/lemon ammonia added.  If you do add the ammonia, add 1 teaspoon with 1 cup of water.  If you do not have this, it’s OK.  Then you want to soak the ozone plates in the warm water solution for 2-3 minutes.  Remove any leftover residue by lightly scrubbing the metal screen on each side of the plates with a toothbrush or soft brush-like material.  Allow for the plates to dry fully before reinserting them back into the unit.  You do not want to insert damp and moist plates back into the unit which may result in damaging your unit.

If your air purifier has a back carbon filter on the back of it, it is recommended that you clean it at the same time as the ozone plates.  You can use a can of compressed air that can be bought from any local Home Depot or office supplies store to spray the dust off the filter.  It is recommended that this is done every 3 months about.  You should also replace the back filter at least once a year and replace the ozone plates at least once every 3 years.  If you notice the ozone output has decrease or the plate is arching/producing a weird sound, you shouldn’t wait to replace the plates as well.  You can order these plates or other replacement parts like back filters on our parts page found on our website.

Additionally, you can use the compressed air to effectively remove any dust inside the unit once every couple of months, or whenever you feel necessary.  You can also easily unscrew and remove the front grill of the air purifier and use compressed air to clean the fan motor, the fan blade, or the surrounding areas as needed as well.

For additional information for specific maintenance instructions applicable to your model, please refer to the user guide for you air purifier.  Please know that the user guides for old, out of circulation air purifiers are no longer available and you can just follow these general maintenance instructions safely.  Visit Alpine’s FAQ page if you have more questions about how to clean, replace, maintain, or general topics on your air purifier.
